Japan's Waseda University President Katsuhiko Shirai visited Tsinghua on August 29. Tsinghua University President Gu Binglin and Tsinghua University Council Honorary Chairman Wang Dazhong discussed future cooperation with President Shirai.
A Joint Steering Committee for Cooperation Promotion between the two universities was established in 2008.
